MARIAH CERVANTES
Mariah Cervantes grew up in Utah and comes from a family of 9 kids. She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in Oaxaca, Mexico (2019-2021). After returning from her mission, her second oldest sister came out as transgender. Seeing the pain that rejection and judgment from members of the church caused her sister, she wanted to create a safe space for members of LGBTQ+ community in the church. She soon after came out as bi-sexual and met her wife, Carmen, in a Spanish singles ward and they got married on March 25, 2023. Mariah and her wife continue going to church because of their love for Jesus Christ. Thanks to the church, she knows God and Jesus Christ personally. She is now at Utah Valley University studying to be an elementary school teacher.
